Marriage is honourable - for exclusivity in sex and being the only God-approved means for producing children; marriage is a wonder in its potential for pleasure; marriage is a spectacle - in all its expressions; marriage is blessed - with fruitfulness and authority marriage is a perfect solution - by the security and comfort it gives. The wonder of God and sweet emotions of love expressed in marriage are overwhelming and so beautiful when fully experienced. God conceived, designed, and made marriage become a reality.

It does not matter if you know or agree with the designer, but as far as you have purchased his product, you had better adhere to His design if you want to enjoy His product.

This author strongly believes that ignorance of how marriage is made to work and its very deep and rich spiritual content are the main reasons for the near collapse of the marriage institution. Secondarily, the thought that marriage is man-contrived and therefore can be formed and shaped as man wishes, has resulted in many marriages not being fulfilled and blossoming. The title of this book is derived from the thought of how the beauty and sweet smell of a fragrant and beautiful flower is likened to a marriage operating as made to work and how it contrasts sharply with the pricking painful discomfort of a thorny plant, which is likened to the experience of a marriage not operating according to how marriage is made to work.
