Startlingly well-written, this book made me hear colors

This book expresses and tells in a whole new way. I wish I had read it when I was younger! It gives new words to wordless experiences, and tells a story of struggle and hope from an earthy, creative point of view. Read into one girl's story about learning her own language and trying to make her way in a world telling her otherwise. There's true hope and clear expression in this book.
