ABOUT THE BOOK
Originally, I was going to write a book about the life and times of 'Meg De Amasi- a trip through a foreign country'. It would have been nothing short of exposition of cultural and psychological shock and roller-coaster emotions that followed. If you're constantly bathed in the negative: "You're no good" "You don't belong here", "Go back where you came from", unconsciously, and like magic, you begin to develop that negative mindset about yourself.
The Bible says: "You're what you think" (Proverbs 23:7.)
I found myself in a new environment, where with constant nagging and fault finding, I thought I was abnormal. (The doctor threatened to send me to a Psychiatrist) So, I decided to take the bull by horn and help myself. I attended many personal development courses, read so many books, (Wrong ones) got seriously involved in many community and charitable causes with shiny credentials, yet, the happiness and fulfillment I expected eluded me. The more I struggled the more disempowered and disenchanted I became.
I had become a misfit in a strange world; if I couldn't beat them, join them I did, but still unfulfilled until I discovered the true meaning of the Word of God.
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." - John 1:1
Slowly, it dawned on me that, God aside, I was my own best friend - a unique individual responsible for my own redemption and happiness; that I can add value to people's lives, but I can never make them or myself happy because happiness is an intrinsic core value.
Oprah Winfrey said; "The biggest adventure you can take is to live the life of your dreams"
Yes, I agree, but there's a definite purpose for each one of us and once the purpose is clear, everything else lines up for the highest good. I believe that one needs to know the 'Self' first: where you're coming from, where you intend to go and how you plan to live the dreams; with whom and by whom, where and how. Becoming a Happily Single Woman from within is a personal journey; a release, an attempt to disentangle from the 'Norm' or what everybody else expected me to be. I cannot live everybody's dreams but mine.
Successful people always refer to their Mentors, I chose the Word of God - Jesus is alive.
"The unfolding of your Word gives light; it gives understanding to the simple." Psalm 119: 130. NIV
The Word of God has transformed my life for the better; beyond expectations.
I pray that this book becomes your companion and gives you the lift, and inner confidence and outer light on your journey to finding your personal Purpose, Focus, Freedom and Rich Fulfillment that I call Happiness from within.
Let the "Word be a lamp under your feet, a light on your path." (Psalm 119:105)
Happy Reading
God's Love and best wishes
