Excellent! A book about life,love, humanity and sacrifice.

When I first started to read this book, I couldn't put it down. It is such a real thing. A book about a struggling painter who has a limp, and a young girl called Becky. For those who like to read about life and real people, this book is for you. It broke my heart. Thompson creates a story which doesn't have a happy ending, which is exactly what happens in real life sometimes. I consider it a classic! Very few writers actually write with a burning truth about life, love, poverty, humanity and strugle. It seems as if Thompson wasn't out to create a fantasy but to see into the souls of the people in this world who face heartbreak, poverty and hardships, and bring out their story. I've read many books in my 16 years of life, and consider "Becky" to be one of the best.
