Do you feel sad, depressed, devastated, grieved, or broken?
Over the past year, I realized that many people are hurting, not only for themselves but also for their loved ones. With talks of wars, rumors of wars, loved ones dying, children forced into human trafficking, natural disasters that have caused devastating destruction, along with depression and anxiety at an all-time high, this world leaves us stressed out. We consume drugs and alcohol in hopes of easing the pain, only to realize these substances are a temporary solution. Well, friend, I am here to offer you long-term joy, hope, and encouragement that can only be found in Jesus Christ. Jesus desires to help you overcome your situation and show you that beauty can rise again from your darkest trials and tribulations through His great love for you. 1 Peter 3:3-4 says, "Do not let your adornment be merely outward-arranging the hair, wearing gold, or putting on fine apparel-rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God." I am a girl from Texas who grew up in the 90s. In school, I was determined to tease my bangs so they would stand out and look higher than my peers'. I spent a lot of time and money on hairspray to achieve this look. They say everything is bigger in Texas. Oh, these things are not bad. If God has blessed you with the money to afford these luxuries, then by all means, treat yourself, girl. The beauty industry has already generated $650 billion worldwide this year alone, so clearly, people are treating themselves. But Peter reminds us not to devote so much time and effort to our outward appearance, which includes our hair, makeup, clothes, pedicures, manicures, etc., that we forget to work on our inner heart. Instead, he tells us that beauty comes from a gentle and quiet spirit. Gentleness and quietness are lacking in our society, yet God considers these qualities very precious. How do we learn to become gentle and quiet? Through reading God's Word. Then, when we learn to become this hidden person of the heart, we are clothed with strength and honor, as stated in Proverbs 31:25. How many of us could benefit from the strength needed to pull us up from the difficult situation we are facing? Beauty Rises Again: From Brokenness to New Beginnings will bring hope and encouragement to those facing brokenness. If you have your life all together and never have a bad day, then this book is not for you. But if you find it difficult to get out of bed in the morning, then you need to hear what Jesus has laid on my heart. So, are you ready for a new beginning? A fresh start? Are you looking to rediscover life and find genuine happiness? Then, hang on for the ride. Beauty will rise again When Love Fails, God's Love Prevails (short excerpt)This story caused me to envision a Hallmark movie. I can see it now.
Jacob traveled far and wide in search of a Christmas tree farm where he would help chop down trees for the holiday season. Rachel, who had a "lovely figure and was beautiful," was dressed in a white coat with tall brown boots. Her long brown hair swooshed in the wintry air. She stumbled upon a rugged-looking Jacob as she searched for the perfect five-foot tree to fill her house with glee (Gen. 29:17 NIV).
Dad, also known as Laban, hopped out of the truck to search for Rachel, wondering why she was taking so long at the tree farm. Laban finally located Rachel. After introductions from both parties, Laban realized Jacob was his nephew. Go figure They all drove to Laban's log cabin to make a big batch of gingerbread cookies. Rachel and Jacob locked eyes while sipping hot cocoa by the fireplace. Suddenly, another girl entered the scene.
