Bears Never Hunt In Packs: Case File: TDG-512F
Bears Never Hunt in Packs
The Time Bureau Files: Book Six
The Bear Clan has survived for thousands of years by one law above all others:
Stand on your own. Hunt alone.
Across the frozen vastness of the Ursathor Taiga, Bear Clan hunters live scattered beneath ancient forests, answering to no army and relying upon no one for survival.
Then eleven Bear warriors are found slaughtered in the same place.
The wounds are strange. The enemy is stranger.
But one fact is more disturbing than the bodies themselves.
The Bears died together.
Dr. Kellyn Windstream has come north searching for Jotunnbjorn, the legendary Bear warrior whose strength may help bind another Anari clan to the growing alliance. Instead, she finds a people under siege by an enemy changing faster than anyone understands.
The Krikk'ar hives are producing new breeds of warriors.
Their attacks are evolving.
And something in Ursathor is beginning to force the solitary Bears into a kind of war they were never meant to fight.
But the danger beneath the taiga is older still.
Deep within the Frostcrag Mountains, an ancient Dranari city is rising toward the surface. Its warriors emerge into a world that remembers their people only in legend, wielding powers lost for thousands of years.
Then strangers carrying impossible weapons arrive from the distant future.
Among their equipment is the image of a woman the Dranari have never seen.
Kellyn Windstream.
Someone in FY 3553 has sent an assassination unit across thirty-five centuries to kill her.
Now an evolving hive, a forgotten enemy, and killers from the future are converging upon Ursathor while ancient alliances begin to fracture and reform.
And somewhere beyond the trees, a horn is sounding.
A horn Kellyn knows.
The Horn of the Wild Hunt.
The Bear Clan has never needed an army.
It has never needed allies.
And Bears never hunt in packs.
They may not survive unless they do.
