Discouragement is a spirit and it comes from the enemy in a form of a lie. Fear, unbelief, self-pity and self-condemnation are by-products of Satan's lies. It is his main weapon. You can be opened to his lies when you allow the trials and the cares of this life to trouble you, or if you do not put your confidence in God's provision for your every need. It is not God's plan that we should be discouraged. His plan is that we should cast all our cares upon Him, so that we can live a victorious life.
