As the family business grew, he held a position of Executive Vice-President of Merchandising, Sales, Marketing and Advertising within the Corporation, and was named a 'marketing genius' of his generation. Pergament is the founder of DIY (Do-it-Yourself) movement in the USA, which turned generations of homeowners into Do-It-Yourselfers.
