The version that is the measure for other versions

I grew up on the Ambrose Video BBC Shakespeare series. My first real introduction was in a local community college. I did not need the credit, but I thought that something was missing in my worldview, and it needed a touch of Shakespeare to help round it out.
Whenever a different presentation becomes available, I return to this series for the comparison and look at the other versions as the deviants for better or worse, or just different.
I am amazed to find that each time I watch these productions, I see something that was overlooked or forgotten.
I will eventually place my thoughts as a review of each of the series. But you are best off purchasing the “No Fear Shakespeare” series of books as they are easier to follow than most references, and it is good to get an idea of what you are about to watch, so you and spend time watching and not thinking things like “What does puissant prince mean?”
Henry V played by David Gwillim
A newly anointed king must prove his mettle, weed out treachery, and go to war to gain his just territory. It gets a tad more complex as the bulk of the story is told by Chorus (Alec McCowen). The first time through the play, I was surprised to find the content of the treasure chest given to Henry by Lewis, the French Dauphin, who mysteriously disappears from the play by the play's end.
Also included are:
Richard II
Richard III
Henry IV, Part I
Henry IV, Part II
