Pok mon, introduced during the 1990's, follows an extended Rochambeau (a hand game, played between two people, in which each player forms one of three shapes with an outstretched hand) format. Pok monGO (a phone app available through the Apple, Android, and other app stores), introduced during the summer of 2016, follows a similar theme, allowing trainers to venture outside to catch Pok mon, raid and occupy Pok Gyms, visit Pok Stops, and compete against each other in the Go Battle League.

Pok monGO was created for Pokemon players who wanted to do more than just sit and play a game; it was meant to GO OUT and walk, and meet other trainers, and challenge themselves to be the best that they can be. But, there are trainers who think Pok monGO is something more; some drop thousands of dollars, bragging that they have captured the best of the best (they've bought them, not earned them); there are trainers who mistakenly consider Pok monGO to be an Esport, travelling all over the world to compete against other obsessive trainers.
