THERE'S MORE THAN ONE WAY TO WRITE A BOOK . . .My advice? Never start your writing career with a novel. Start smaller, with short stories and novellas. Do a bunch of them and you'll hone your craft. You'll create characters, concepts, and scenarios that you might later put into a novel. Meanwhile, write dozens of short stories and put them out there (in anthologies, magazines, and/or contests).
