David and Elliot are great camp friends. When they arrive at summer camp, Elliot is a bit homesick, but knows he will feel better once he gets into a routine. His counselor and camp friends keep him busy. Before going to sleep every night their counselor says good night to them in any language the campers request. One night after the counselor leaves the bunk. Somebody notices that there is a bat in the bunk. Not a baseball bat, but a real flying bat. A search ensues for the bat and the bat is caught. After the nature counselor tells the campers about bats, she lets the bat free outside. Elliot writes a letter home telling his family about his homesickness, and the bat in the bunk.
