Customer Reviews

Very fine.

Skvorecky is always interesting, especially when he writes about the Czech experience. In this case, two stories, both on the edge of "magical realism" -- or the grotesque -- about life under totalitarianism, and about the yearning for human interaction characteristic of Czech writing.
