Basic Mormonism offers the inquirer a shorter overview of the basic doctrines of the misnamed "Mormon Church" than most books on the subject, and why the Church came to be known as such. Occasionally the book will give a somewhat more detailed analysis of a particular tenet of this rather unique Christian religion. The goal is to provide the reader a more concise study of Mormonism - a misleading term as it lends one to think of the Church as non-Christian. Nothing could be further from the truth. As its correct name implies, the Church is THE Church of Jesus Christ. The book covers such topics as who do the members of the Church worship, what do they believe about God and His Son Jesus, what books serve as Scripture for them, what is the "Plan of Salvation," is there marriage in heaven, what is Priesthood authority, how should one pray, as well as several other subjects of particular interest and importance to the investigator of this Christian Church.
