good pocket phrase book for a short trip to China

This Basic Chinese Sentences includes nearly 1,000 phrases and sentences used in daily life, offers you all the important words and phrases you may need on a visit to China. The phonetic transcriptions (Pinyin) are designed as an aid to correct pronounciations, and the systematic arrangement of the phrasebook will help you to find what you are looking for in the shortest possible time. Structure of the book The phrasebook is divided into 36 chapters of functional expressions, followed by 20 chapters of situational expressions on transportation, accommodations, food and drink, and many other important aspects of travel abroad. There are also chapters on shopping, health, cultural activities, and entertainment. This book not only provides authentic Chinese sentences, but also try to introduce various ways to express yourself in Chinese. You will find it is very interesting to learn Chinese. You need some basic knowledge of Pinyin as this book does not provide introduction of Pinyin. However, knowledge of Pinyin is very easy to learn and can be easily acquired in many other ways. Some of the English translations of Chinese sentences in this book may not proper due to lack of foreign living experience of the authors. Sometimes the English may sound very rude to native English speakers, but it is neither the tone of Chinese sentences nor the intention of the authors. I found it is a great travel pocket book for foreigners with a short trip to China.
