Great For Baseball Fans

This is a terrific book that gives detailed accounts of all the weird and interesting record setting games in baseball history from 1901-1997. The author has obviously done a lot of diligent research, and I find the book fascinating. Do you know the record for most stolen base attempts by one team in game? (20!). Did you know that a man once pitched a complete 9-inning game throwing only 58 pitches? (Think about that one--it's described in here). This is great for people who love statistics, but the accounts of the games are also very well-written, and loaded with trivia anecdotes. I only wish there could be an updated version someday. Highly recommended.
