Bartlesville

By Dr. Arley Ballenger

In the heart of Bartlesville, Oklahoma-a town built on oil and shadowed by silence-corruption festers beneath the surface. Bartlesville: Exposing the Corruption and the Fight for Justice pulls back the curtain on a predatory system where judges, public officials, and local institutions siphon federal dollars, exploit Section 8 housing, and weaponize child welfare systems against the most vulnerable: Cherokee families, single parents, and displaced citizens. Behind the brick walls of the Washington County Courthouse and beneath the architectural marvel of the Price Tower lies a network of deceit that has fueled over 200 child removals, 600 OKDHS reports, and widespread ICWA violations.

But this book is more than an expos -it is a battle cry.

Led by brave community advocates like Sarah Bennett and Maria Gonzalez, a growing resistance has taken shape, demanding justice for families destroyed by systemic failure. Dr. Arley Ballenger, drawing from her family legacy-her grandfather Ray Shull's takedown of a powerful elite and her father Arley Shull's relentless pursuit of justice-lays bare the machinery of oppression in meticulous detail. Through truth-telling and fearless investigation, she documents how federal aid is hijacked by those sworn to serve and protect, turning aid into ammunition against the people.

This story belongs to Bartlesville's 300 Section 8 families, the Cherokee voices long silenced, and every citizen fighting for dignity. It is a call to rise.

The truth-like oil buried deep in Oklahoma soil-will rise. And when it does, it will not be ignored.
