Anything Barney is a winner

Not one of my favorites.. Just an opinion and dont know why. My daughter is 19 months and not showing too many favorites yet but this clearly is one of them. This is one of the books she brings me to read. It has a flap to open on each page that says peekaboo. Its a cute book though.

Barney AGAIN? This one is worth it!

The first thing that caught my eye about this book was the glossy colors and the illustrations on each page. Every page is filled with colorful animated Barney characters. The setting of this book is of a typical neighborhood in which children go trick or treating. This alone helped my daughter out quite a bit. Even though she had yet to go trick or treating, seeing her favorite characters in a familiar enviroment reassured her a bit. The lift and peek flaps are absolutely wonderful. This is something my daughter still enjoys and I am sure would be a hit with most young children. The flaps are easy to grip for young hands and sturdy enough not to break off easily. The characters inside the flap are cute and lovable. It's fun for Haleigh to just look at the characters that she finds. This is something she can do alone without having to be read the story. I was also impressed with what this book teaches children. Although it is great to have an imagination, there is someone there that is caring enough to let you know and reassure you that really it only is "imagination". Barney did a superb job at making Baby Bop feel confident about the first Halloween outing. He held her hand, hugged her, and patiently explained that she had nothing to be scared of. I in turn, reassured our daughter that we would be there with her as well. Last, not only are the lift and peek flaps sturdy, but the entire book is. Even though my daughter is three, children even younger would have a hard time tearing these pages. This book is still read to this day. The colors are still as bright as ever and there is hardly any signs of wear and tear.

What better way to prepare your child for Halloween then with Barney and Friends! My child loves to open all the flaps to discover what might be hidding behind each object. Although the book is about Trick or Treating, we read this one together all year round.
