Their final fight for Hell might just be their last.
It's been weeks since Balthazar has last seen Sloane. He's desperate to find her but it's proving to be an impossible task. The pressure from High King Zagon to find the void, the politics of solidifying allies from the Houses, and his frequent trips to the space in between worlds all threaten to break him. He knows Sloane is the missing piece to winning the fight, but he doesn't care about that. He just wants her found. Because he's not sure how much longer he can survive without her safely by his side.
Sloane unintentionally finds herself in The Wastelands. Even with the use of her magic, she's not sure she can escape. Something strange is occurring within the barren desert. She doesn't want to stick around to find out what it is, but the events that unfold pull her farther from Jeznia. She knows Balthazar needs her to defeat Zagon, yet the longer she remains in The Wastelands, the more she fears the answers lie somewhere in there. She must make the choice of venturing further into the unknown and farther away from Balthazar or risk losing everything she's fought for to Zagon Primis.
Can Balthazar and Sloane find their way back together to win the war or will the powers that be keep them forever apart?
