Thirteen years of public school can either make or break your self-confidence. You have to deal with crazy situations and annoying students every year. In this memoir, I reminisce about the worst three years of my life while attending middle school in Bermuda. The bullying started in 6th grade (M1). I coped by focusing on my family, my school work, my music lessons, and my basketball teams. At school, I kept to myself and at home I learned to enjoy my own company by reading, watching cartoons, and playing video games. I moved to Maryland for high school, mainly to get away from my tormentors. There, I learned to play the bass clarinet in 9th grade (S1). Taking advantage of many opportunities, I matured socially, emotionally, and musically over the next four years. By sharing my story, I hope that it will inspire and encourage another young person.
