Teaches Empathy

I have to say I disagree with the editorial review of this book. My two-year-old son is really drawn to this book and the way it depicts the mundane. The other day when I was in bed with a migraine, he took all his books off his bookcase looking for Benjamin Takes Care of Mommy. He then demanded my husband read it over and over again.

A must read for 2-5 yr. old boys & girls!

Benjamin Takes Care of Mommy is my 4 1/2 yr. old daughter's favorite book! We bought the book originally for my baby nephew whose name is Benjamin! My daughter Madeline wanted to read it before we wrapped it up. It became an instant bed time (or any time!) hit. The book is about a young bear whose mommy is sick and has to stay in bed for the day. Benjamin takes it upon himself to bring his mommy honey rolls and tea to bed, sweep the kitchen floor and wash clothes. My daughter has read it so many times that she has memorized all the words so now she "reads" it to me. It is the first book I've ever read that focuses on children taking care of their parents. Mommy's get sick too you know!
