Basic and Thorough

I enjoyed this book very much, especially all the information on breeding and morphs. If I had this book before, my poor python wouldn't have gotten burned on the heat source in his enclosure. The best book for the price that I've seen.

Awesome Book

I've recently purchased a 2ft Ball Python and have been buying as much lit. on the Ball Pyhon as I can. This book so far gives the most usefull information out there. It also has a lot of information that is dated. I say this because the book appears to be written when captive breed snakes were not readilly available. Witht that said there is a LOT of information that is specifically for a snake caught in the wild and shipped over. Even still it's probably the most valuable book on the Ball Python I own so far.

Not a "pet guide book" but a manual.

This is what it says it is a manual. I see people trying to buy this book expecting it to be everything they ever need to know about pythons and then they are dissapointed. This is not a pet guide but a manual. This is a remarkable tool to owning a python. It lists many diseases a python might have,How to check the python for the diseases and how to treat them. Its a must for an owner because if you plan to have the snake for 20-30 years the chances are it will get sick more then once. This book has some great facts for begginers on selecting and housing a snake. Don't buy this book thinking this is all what you need. Its a trouble shooting manual and not a book on how to become one with ur pet, but if you are serious about owning a python or already have one this book is a MUST have. Other then that the next edition should have a better trouble shooting index and more photos on treatment and afflictions in color. There are only a few books that are easy to find on the Ball python and this is one of the best out there.

Very informative for the first time owner

I found that the book is very informative about ball python breeding and husbandry. It also gives information about diseases and how to treat and how to prevent them. I recently bought my first ball python and it helped me a lot. I named her MEDUSA. My mother and father are helping me, but I am doing most of the work. I am 11 years old and I love reptiles. My mother is the one that has the membership here so it is under her name. My name is Mitchel Yorks.
