Balancing Act

Lorna and Richard lived just outside Boston, MA raising their son Stephen until Richard's untimely death when Stephen was 10 years old. Lorna was a social worker at a mental health facility outside Boston. Being widowed put the sole responsibility of raising Stephen on her. She loved her job and she loved her son, but something was missing. She needed someone who would be there for her. Who would be an ally, be there, but not too much. What was the likelihood of being able to find a man who would be warm and loving, share her interests in culture and aesthetics, especially art and literature, put up with and be supportive to an emerging teenage boy, and yet not intrude on her need for solitude.
