Bakery Ghosts: Revenge of the Rice Cake

By Gayoung Bb Yang

An absurdly silly new graphic novel series following the wild antics of twins Sowan and Somi as they explore riotous food science and curious Korean treats in a haunted bakery.

This recipe calls for chaos

Somi loves logic and science. Sowan loves tradition and storytelling. Can these twins stop bickering for long enough to join forces and recreate the long lost Korean rice cake recipe that just might save their Gomo's haunted bakery?

Twins Somi and Sowan have moved across the world to live above their Gomo's struggling Korean bakery--only to discover the kitchen isn't just messy, it's cursed

In a madcap all-nighter, the pair must dodge ghostly antics and cultural mix-ups to bake the one recipe that can save the shop. To succeed, the bickering twins--logical Somi and story-loving Sowan--must finally merge their opposing worlds of science and tradition. Science + storytelling = the perfect recipe

This zany graphic novel series debut puts a fresh, explosive spin on Korean poltergeist lore. Bursting with chaotic humor, energetic art, and an adorable ghost sidekick, it's a perfect blend of family secrets, food science, and supernatural hijinks.

Includes a glossary of Korean terms and a rice cake recipe.
