Weighed down since birth by her emotional baggage, Faith Donnovan's story reads like a litany of misfortune. At 30, Faith finds herself engaged to Justin, a charming and exotic Central American who... This description may be from another edition of this product.
I read this book about a month ago. Kept saying that I would write a review but somehow kept forgetting. This book was great. I must say Althea, you have a new fan in me! Reading this book was like watching a movie. As another reviewer said, it was written so vividly that I had to stop and wonder if this was about the author herself. In either case, get this book if you're looking for a fast read. It is good! My only complaint is that I wanted it to be longer. Ending came a little too fast, but it's still a good read.
Great Story!

Bag Lady is woman's journey through heartache and heartbreak. It's a story about a woman's refusal to continue to let her baggage of yesteryear continue to negatively affect her present day relationships. This book is filled with unique characters, some of which we may have all met at one time or another. An excellent read that will not disappoint. Jessie Jamie Coleman, Author of "Sex on the Side."
My Wife Bought It and I Read It First

O.K. laugh. Yes, me, a man, read a book named Bag Lady. But hey, it was good. Made me think about my cousin who had some of the same problems. And if you really want a good laugh, guess what else--- I used to be just like one of the men in the book. I'm not telling which one. My wife would kill me! Good thing I'm better now, much better. So back to the book, it started in Faith's childhood, so, you can see why she almost ran her life in the ground as an adult. Man!- it made me realize how important it is to raise my children right. Parents examples are crucial. Yeah, Bag Lady was a good read, really good read. Anything that has me wanting to choke some of the characters is a good read- fo sho.
Bag Lady is now carrying a clutch.

I really enjoyed this novel. I am inclined to believe that this is not a work of fiction. It is too believable and has happened in the lives of so many women. It may have taken 3 wrongs before she found Mr. Right, but what is the old adage -- "If at first you don't succeed, try, try, try again." By the end of the book you feel like there is hope and you can tunnel through your baggage.
I CAN RELATE...

I bought this book after seeing a Press release about it. And it was really a good read. Faith Donnovan is the main character and she is raised up with a mother who's more interested in keeping her man than protecting her kids. Faith vows not to be weak like her mother but ends up with men that look good on the outside but end up rotten as hell on the inside. And she finds herself sacrifing her common sense to stay with these losers. One husband, Shawn, ends up being a crack head and womanizer. After they finally divorce, Faith ends up with a boyfriend, Lyle, that secretly practices withcraft and tries to kill her. Faith has a friend named Kelly Mathis that keeps telling her to 'drop that zero', but Faith is out of control. Later she finds herself with husband number two, Lawrence. And boy- is he smooth. Any woman would fall for him. After a year or so of marriage, Faith makes a personal decision that causes him to go off the deep end. Then we see another side of him. There are some twists and turns that you definitely won't see coming. Finally, she meets this Belizean man, Justin, that definitely seems too good to be true. Or is he... I'll let you read it for yourself. I won't spoil it for you. Oh, I almost forgot, the voice of Faiths deceased grandmother, G-ma, pops in sometimes to give her guidance but Faith is stuck in a cycle of stupidity. However, if you want a good summer read with drama, drama that most anybody can relate to, then this book- Bag Lady- will do it for you. If you can't relate to it, your best friend can. Bravo, Ms. Pacascio. By the way, I'm waiting for your next one.
