This book is a fun, easy to use tool for getting started in backyard birding. You won't have to learn to read Latin or get a degree in ornithology. You can choose to do those things if you like, but for our purposes here, I'm going to keep it straightforward and enjoyable. In fact, you can probably glean a lot of information from just looking at the photos. I took all of the photos at my feeders, in my yard, or at nearby locations. For years now, I have enjoyed having birds in my back yard. Like countless others, I find watching them to be relaxing and rewarding. There are so many aspects to this hobby, and so many ways to participate in it, that I think many people can find at least some part that they find fun and interesting.Like any other pursuit though, a little bit of knowledge can go a long way toward helping you figure out exactly what you want to do, and how to get there. The abundance of photos in this book, and the guide to identifying common birds by color should help get you off the ground quickly. I hope that this book will help you to learn about and enjoy backyard birds as much as I do. Once you know a few basics, you are on your way to hours of fun and enjoyment, so let's get started!
