Dorothea Lange, in her exhibit at MoMA in 1960-61, said, "Every photo really is documentary, belongs someplace, and can be fortified by words." Have you ever wondered why you shot a particular photograph? Could it have been related to a time or event from your past imprinted in your subconscious memory? In selecting the photos for this book I retrospectively realized that many I had taken clearly had reminded me of certain childhood experiences from summers I had spent in the Berkshire Mountains of Western Massachusetts. To take these photographs over the past 16 summers I used 11 different cameras, including Canon and Fujifilm DSLRs and four different iPhones. The subject of each photograph opened the door for me to research and record facts about its history. This book is not about photographic technique nor is it a tutorial. This book is an eclectic composite of what visually pleased or excited me. What will inspire you?
