Admid those times of a counterculture, a social awareness, the greatest music ever, free love, drugs, and flower power, Diedrich Marks existed as the coolest of the cool.

Enabled by inheritance, while profiteering through dealing contraband, his goal was to live in the coastal marsh of Louisiana away from the chaos of New Orleans, where he could write in the serenity of nature. But he had no intention of becoming a hermit, allowing his passions for hunting ducks, fishing, and pulling a shrimp trawl to continue alongside the dedication toward applying words to the page. Not to mention his desire to maintain an active sex life with an ongoing bevy of women all too eager to spend some time in his bed.

But could he achieve any of these pie in the sky aspirations, or more to the point, how many souls would he trample along the way?
