Back to Blue Holly

"Witty, wise, and brimming with romance, Back to Blue Holly is a love letter to community and the irresistible pull of finding where you truly belong. A debut not to be missed " -Patti Callahan Henry, NYT bestselling author of The Story She Left Behind

Newly divorced and completely burned out, Dottie heads back to Blue Holly-the charming lake town where her family made their best memories. She's hoping for peace and purpose. Instead, she finds a grown-up mountain town with an identity problem and her Aunt Lo packing to leave with a single offer on the table: a crumbling old hardware store with a "fix it up and it's yours" kind of deal.

Dottie doesn't know a wrench from a whisk, has no capital, and even less confidence. But when she stumbles on a forgotten moonshine still in the garage of the Red Arrow, inspiration (and mischief) strike. Maybe Blue Holly doesn't need another hardware store. Maybe what it needs is a brewery.

With the help of a ragtag crew of locals and the unwavering, utterly compelling Crawford Woody, Dottie sets out to transform the Red Arrow hardware store into a small-town haven. But as opposition mounts and secrets rise to the surface, she'll have to decide if she's ready to fight for the town-and future-she's only just discovered.

Great debut novel!

This book didn’t travel to exotic places with me as it did with other readers. It did travel with me to appointments, errands and my front porch. It is a mighty fine, superbly-written, & enjoyable companion! Dottie, the lead character is authentic and relatable as she works to find herself after a bad marriage. The characters she meets as she settles in to life in Blue Holly are truly that-characters with their own personalities and quirks and virtues (or lack of). Blue Holly itself with mountains, valleys, eagle nest, and lake, provides more than a backdrop. Blue Holly has its own personality as a nurturing, inclusive environment for the story. The plot leads us deftly through struggles, emotions, intrigue, hard work, and triumph. Read Beth Pride’s debut novel now! It should be at the top of everyone’s TBR pile and when finished, you will anxiously await what is next from this author—a new favorite of mine! I know I am!
