Burying traumatic memories of her past, Mandy marks time through life until a forgotten acquaintance reappears. She learns, through another's eyes, that in order to emotionally heal, she needs to revisit her childhood by looking at it from an adult perspective. Woven throughout her journey is an illustrated allegorical fairy tale written by her friend Elke Becker. Both the writing and the reading of the tale force both women to connect to the parallel paths that their lives have taken.

Set in New York City in late winter of 2022, all are searching for a return to a semblance of normalcy in a new world. Hoping for a better future, the reunited friends head back to the before and bring their story full circle into the now.
