USA TODAY bestselling author Christie Ridgway brings you a fan--favorite tale of forbidden love... schoolgirl crush...or a forever love? Lucy Sutton has a mission: to get over Carlo Milano once and for all. And when she becomes the successful security director's temporary employee, she thinks the arrangement is perfect. After all, a strictly professional relationship will help her overcome her longtime unrequited crush. But nothing is business as usual for CarloFor Lucy is no longer a pesky teenager...she is a vibrant, beautiful woman who just happens to work for him. She is smart, sweet--and undeniably sexy. And yes, he knows that he's playing with fire. But the closer he gets to Lucy, the more he's finding it impossible to resist the flame...
This was a fun read--at times I laughed out loud at the antics of Lucy Sutton as she tried to get over Carlo Milano, her girlhood crush. And Carlo had such a time keeping "just friends" with his old girlfriend's little sister. Those Italians--dark, brooding, passionate--gotta love 'em. Lucy was the perfect foil--blonde, fun and trying to keep things light. I enjoyed seeing the backdrop of San Diego. Since I am familiar with the city I could really envision the story there.
All the romantic elements I love are here.

This is the story of Lucy, who returns to her family fold after 3 years away, trying to become successful as an accountant. Her older sibs are all successful and give her a hard time because she hasn't kept a job. She takes a temp. position with the family friend, Carlo, until she can find what she's looking for. She's had a crush on him for years and he hasn't noticed her until now. He's tortured by the death of his partner (he was a cop and now runs a security firm) and doesn't want to feel. Christie Ridgway has a way with romance. In Bachelor Boss, everything I like in a romance is there. You've got the brooding, tortured hero who thinks he has to live a solo life and can't love. He's the friend of the heroine's family. You've got the spunky, intelligent, yet vulnerable heroine who has had a crush on the hero for years and shows him how to live and love again. They have chemistry that sizzles. The sexual tension is taut. Then, when they give in, it is HOT, HOT, HOT. (wow, that rhymes). You have the interferring family. I LOVED this book. Christie Ridgway knows how to write romance that is romantic, emotional, and the characters are wonderful. Highly recommend.
