"Coming events cast their shadows before them."

Not a recent Episode;but nonetheless a rip-snorting adventure for our hero Skye Fargo,in the wild logging country north of the Sapphire Mountains of Montana,in 1860. The Trailsman gets himself involved in a brutal lumber war where he finds it hard to decide whose side he wants to be on,who he can trust;in fact he finds there are no good sides to be found. We get treated to some interesting characters,but even more so some unusual tactics employed when these tough loggers get themselves involved in fights where there are no rules,and no established law to intervene. Log flumes are an important element in transporting huge logs down the mountainsides;but Fargo soon learns that they can also serve much more diabolical uses. From the excellent artwork on the cover, we get a hint of what happens when Skye finds himself,severely injured,without his Colt,rifle or even his trusty Arkansas Toothpick;and surrounded by at least 20 hungry wolved that are all set to make a meal out of him.This results in one of Skye's greatest life preserving contests that we have ever seen in this long,running and exciting series.
