The first question man is asked in the Torah is "Ayeka", "Where are you?" Adam and Eve eat from the Tree of Knowledge, their eyes open wide, but their sight is dimmed. The Rambam (Maimonides) in Guide of the Perplexed, states that man lost his Divine wisdom to judgmental mind. Since then, the question "Ayeka" echoes in the world, pursuing and demanding us to look inwards, honestly and directly, at the mystery of life.The Torah portions are the heartbeat of the Jewish people.
