Nurse As Heroine for a Change

I bought this book after obtaining the first in the series. I was looking for a book where a nurse was 1) the heroine 2) intelligent 3) not the doctor's handmaiden and 4) not a sex object. This book satisfies on all levels. The plot is what my mother would call a popcorn novel, meaning that it is not so deep that you loose your way if you are interrupting while reading and yet it was a very enjoyable light read. I did wonder why she roomed with the same friend as in the first novel and that friend's partner didn't come along. That seemed like a bit of a stretch, especially in the sequel to this novel, where the same thing happened, but I was kept guessing on the whodunit part which isn't true of some mysteries.

Candy Calvert writes such fun mysteries! I have always looked forward to her books and have recommended them to eveyone I know. In my HONEST opinion, this is a great book. Pick up her other books too! I promise you will have a fun light read!

Smooth Sailing With Darcy and Company

I enjoyed Aye Do or Die even more than Dressed to Keel, and that is saying a lot. Candy Calvert entertained me throughout the wildest wedding party mystery cruise I've ever set sail on. Her snappy dialogue had me laughing out loud, and she kept me guessing who-done-it until the last few pages. Ms. Calvert weaved a lovely romance throughout the story with not one but two dashing suitors for our slightly hyper, but always dressed to the nines, heroine. And I'll never think about staples and staplers in the same way again! So, where are we cruising next?

Fast-paced and funny

I'm always excited when I find a book I can recommend to my friends. This second book by Candy Calvert is a keeper. ER nurse Darcy Cavanaugh is back on board a cruise ship, only this time, she's part of a zany, unpredictable wedding party. Calvert has a talent for creating wonderful characters. This book kept me guessing, and had one of the best endings that I've read in awhile. Great if you're looking for something fast-paced, funny and touching as well.
