Awakening

A collection of poems about healing from trauma, Awakening takes readers on a journey of loss, resilience, redemption, and, ultimately, reclamation. The poems speak to the need to embrace the healing journey, seek solace in the power of nature, and accept the love and support of others along the way. Ultimately they celebrate the triumph of coming home to oneself in order to be fully present to joy and all that life has to offer.

Mary Saracino is a novelist, memoir writer, and poet. She is the author of the poetry collection Motherlines as well as the novels The Singing of Swans, Heretics: A Love Story, No Matter What, and Finding Grace and the memoir Voices of the Soft-bellied Warrior. The Singing of Swans (Pearlsong Press, 2006) was named a 2007 Lambda Literary Awards finalist in the Spirituality category.

Her fiction, creative nonfiction, and poetry have appeared in a variety of literary and cultural journals online and in print.
