I am one of the 'lucky ones', as they say. One of the five thousand SUPERS to board the ARC, and escape the fate of the planet. I had no idea that when I said goodbye to my parents that day I, it would be the last time I ever saw them again. They knew. My parents had known my entire life; that one day they would send me away. I now understood why all those people were shouting at us the day I boarded the ARC; why they were filled with such anger and hatred towards us SUPERS. I can't blame them. I suppose I would have felt the same had I been in their shoes; told that I was going to die, while only a select few got a chance at life. How could our government choose who was valuable and who was expendable? Like Krista. Why was she chosen for a position on the ARC and not another? Why was she chosen to escape the fate of those left behind? Of the 60,000 people living in Haven at the time of our departure, only fifteen thousand boarded the ARC; fifteen thousand. None of it made since to me; but here I stood. I was seven when I entered the ARC; that was eleven years ago.
