HATE COLD AS THE WINTER SNOW When her parents died without a cent, innocent Tara Montgomery had no choice but to head for Fort Lyon to reunite with her soldier brother. The independent miss never dreamed of the journey's perils - and the worst was her suntanned, buckskin-clad wagonmaster Zach Windwalker. His disdain of women traveling alone infuriated her; his grisly stories of Western Life annoyed her. But Zach's masterful lips upon her sensitive flesh drove her to distraction. Even as Tara swore to despise him forever, the passionate pioneer was guiding his hands to her buttons, her chemise... and to the wildly beating heart beneath! LOVE HOT AS THE SUMMER SUN Half-breed frontiersman Zach Windwalker didn't need a tempting morsel like Tara Montgomery in his life - not when he was on the verge of trapping the gunrunners who were supplying the Cheyenne. The virile tracker planned to almost seduce the untouched beauty to scare her back to Washington, D.C. But at the moment the strong-willed male should have pushed her away, he pulled Tara even closer. With only the vast plains and distant hills as witness, Zach was as single-minded as the invincible American Eagle as he swooped down with unwavering passion upon his unresisting , gentle AUTUMN DOVE.

Very different than what I expected. Really great!!

I don't generally get into books about the indian/frontier stuff but this book is soooooo much more than that. When the book ends you will have not only an enjoyable read, but a new insight intothat entire era along with many examples of true love and committment.....between man/woman, parent/child and friends/enemies. I can't recommend this strongly enough. Stick with it once you start it. It takes awhile to gel. Tara/s parents die leaving her penniless so she joins a wagon train heading to her cavalry brother's unit. The wagon train guide, Zach "windwalker", does everything he can to get her to forgo this difficult trip. She's a woman alone and he isin the midst of finding out who is selling guns and inciting the indians. Naturally she spites him by going anyway and of course he spends the trip trying to keep her out of trouble. Their sparks for each other lead to some wonderful lovemaking but Zach gets nastier as he fights his attraction to this white woman who is out of his league and out of his life's reach. He has had a lifetime of being a "halfbreed" and being ostracized. But his worth lays in the exceptional scouting talent he has and the rich understanfing of both worlds he tries to live in.The frontier is new to Tara so she is naive about the dangers and problems that exist. But she sure toughens up. And she supports Zach in ways that make u want to stand up and cheer for her.(And becomes worthy of the name "autumn dove" )Zach walks a line of finding the bad guys...both white and indian.....and staying loyal to his beloved indian family and albeit few white friends. The officer in charge of the fort of course is an indian hater......and makes zach's job even more difficult. There are many wonderful characters in this book. I can only hope that SS does a sequel about Zach's younger and full of life half brother Little Raven. I know you'll enjoy this.

Very exciting!

Autumn Dove was a really great book with alot of juicy details and exciting situations. I loved the setting (the west during the 1800's) and you will love it too!
