Outburst of feelings

Automatic pilot was a revellation for me. Innovative both in form (juxtaposes subjective and objective scenes) and content, hilarious, sensual, and moving. Charlie ia a stand-up comedienne that hard as she may try cannot get free from her attachment to her former husband and now less than successful in business gay actor- Allan. Things get entangled when she has a go with two brothers one after the other, and then moves on to make a stand up act of her experiences and emotions. The title refers to her instinctual ability to facilitate a defensive mechanism and forget every unpleasant situation that she's involved in through the use of alcohol and the abuse of strangers. The script is fast moving, full of explosive one liners and wonderful mise-en-scene.
