Autobiography Volume 1: The Evolution of the Soul from the Great American Forest to the Vatican Council

Read how this amazing, strong woman, Emilie Jane Butterfield Meriman Loyson, (Madame Hyacinthe Loyson) emerged from humble beginnings as a child growing up in a log cabin in frontier Ohio (reminiscent of the tales of Laura Ingalls Wilder's Little House on the Prairie) to be a member of high society and religious leader in both the US and Europe. President Lincoln, Longfellow, Franz Liszt, Henry Ward Beecher, Pope Pius IX and many more were friends or acquaintances of hers. From an early age she declared her religious beliefs but was not settled in what religion she should belong to causing much turmoil in her mind. By the end of this autobiography she finds her place but still questions religious authority. She intended to write subsequent additions to this autobiography but stopped after becoming ill and passing away a short time after writing the first draft in 1910. The editor of this autobiography, Peter Chase Wetherill, plans to write subsequent biographical editions of Madam Hyacinthe Loyson's life after the period of this autobiography along with her soon to be husband, P re Hyacinthe Loyson.
