capacitors don't like waiting in line

On page 15 the figure 1.9 shows four capacitors in series, the conclusion drawn is that the four capacitors add their individual values to equal their combined sum. I'm not a rocket scientist but I believe this is incorrect. The only way to add their values is to have them in parrallel, this is completely reversed from how resistors work. I hope this can help you, the rest of the book is very well written and informative.
