Superb value for your money

Knowledge of anatomy is fundamental for medicine. I had the privilege to study anatomy under the books author, Bernhard N. Tillmann, and was extremely surprised to find it in the Borders bargain section. Professor Tillmann and the other professors from the Institute of Anatomy at the Christian-Albrechts-University in Kiel, Germany, are superb teachers of anatomy, and to this day I draw from the knowledge I gained there so many years ago. The book is full of fantastic illustrations, and the combination of anatomical facts with clinically relevant knowledge are perfect and very motivating for anyone studying anatomy. The book has been beautifully adapted to the english language, combining the typically latin terms used in Europe with the plain english used in american anatomy. Wether you are a beginning nurse, EMT, chiropractor or medical student, this book can be wholeheartedly recommended to anyone in the medical field.

On Sale in Borders for five ninety nine

I found this Atlas very instructive and detailed. Most of its page area is taken by pictures (unlike some other atlases that squeeze in a lot of descriptive text). At the time of writing, Borders store in Sunnyvale has this Atlas in their "bargain books" section for this unbelievably low price.

Tour of a wonderful place

That place, of course, is the human body that we all share. This profusely illustrated book largely starts at the top and works down: head, neck, trunk, thorax and pelvis, and so on down to the toes. Most pages display two or more pictures, thousands of them in all. Clear, legible drawings predominate, with occasional photos, endoscopy images, CAT reconstructions, MRI pictures, and more. This describes only anatomy, not function or pathology (except in a few cases). That still gives it plenty to work with. Since there's so much detail, it will sometimes take a moment or two for the reader to figure out what parts or views are shown. On the whole, I think that encourages additional thought, forcing the viewer to puzzle out the 3D constuction of what's inside. I strongly recommend this to any household with children. They're going to spend a lot of time in those bodies, and the more they know they better they'll be able to take care of them. You might want to think about whether your little one is ready for the meaty details of what's inside, and for his & hers reproductive anatomy. They're going to learn sooner or later, though, and it can't hurt to make sure they get better information than their friends are passing around. This won't answer every question, but it will certainly help. -- wiredweird

The most thorough and concise Anatomy Atlas.

This is the most thorough anatomy atlas I have ever used. The clarity of the diagrams in this atlas make it easy to follow and reference. The simplicity of this book makes it very useful for not only a professional in the medical field but for anyone interested in anatomy. The price is also the most affordable Anatomy Atlas I have ever seen. This was a great buy!
