Wonderful 1920s Booze-Running Romantic Yarn

I stumbled on this book many years ago. It's a fast paced book set in the early 1920s and tells the story of a boy who grows up in an ecentric family to become a backbay clammer and later rum runner in 1928ish Atlantic City. Wonderful, enjoyable read.

Magic Writer

C.C. Gilmore's writing is sweet and fresh. He has an excellent grasp of his craft, but his pages always turn easily because he never allows his prose to become self-indulgent. I read this book years ago, and I'm still proud to have it on my shelf. A great summer read!
