"At the Foot of the Rainbow," Gene Stratton-Porter's 1907 novel, uses fishing as a backdrop to tell the story of Jimmy Malone and Dannie Macnoun, who is in love with Jimmy's wife, Mary. This description may be from another edition of this product.
Although not my absolute favorite Gene Stratton-Porter book ( The Keeper of the Bees would have to earn that honor), I found At The Foot of The Rainbow to be quite rewarding reading. The characters, setting, dialogue/dialect, and virtues are classic Porter; the issues and values are timeless; and the thought provoking manner in which she concludes her story leave one considering their own lives on a deeper level. Well worth a few hours of reading(one of her shorter novels) and several more of soul serching to follow. A highly recommended book for young and old!!!!!!!
