At the Earth's Core (1976) PG is really for everyone.
A Victorian scientist, Peter Cushing as Dr. Abner Perry, has invented the machine dubbed “The Iron Mole” that can go to the Earth's core. The original story by Edgar Rice Burroughs (1875 to 1950). His assistant is the slow learning Doug McClure as David Innes.
Due to a mishap, they end up in a foreign environment below the Earth. There, they meet a beautiful princess, Caroline Munro as Princess Dia. Together, they must fight evil beings to free the local villagers.
Throughout the movie, Dr. Abner Perry is full of one-liners as “You cannot mesmerize me! I'm British!” then his eyes cross, “Oh, they're so excitable, like all foreigners.”, “Did you ever want to go to the moon?”, referring to another movie.
You get a lot of hokey-looking men in monster suits (at least they are not stop motion). At the Earth’s core, the villagers speak English, and women wear lipstick.
Be sure to get a DVD version if you can. It has a lot of good extras that include a voice-over. Also, an interview with Caroline Munro.
