At Least: A Collection of Poetry After a Self-Challenge To write One Poem Per Day - At Least.

On February 18, 2023, I set a challenge for myself to write at least one poem per day. There was no reason for this other than to utilize a part of my brain too often silent. After three months I had 105 poems. I take Sundays off unless my Muse says otherwise, and I've missed only two days since I began.

I'm not overly concerned about the quality of my poetry. I'm not out to prove anything, nor to become the Poet Laureate of my little town. I write for my enjoyment. I write for my wife, whose praise is always suspect due to her love for me, which I cherish. I write for my clients, sometimes, when they inspire me (I work as a Correctional Substance Abuse Counselor). I write for Kim Schotte, who, alone among all who've seen my work on social media, continues to support my efforts.
And, in publishing them, I write for those who can possibly relate, or who perhaps might challenge themselves with a similar undertaking. If people don't like my work, I don't care; I wasn't writing for them.

I think the important thing in this is setting the challenge and rising to meet it. This has been a great deal of fun up to ths point, and I see no reason to stop doing it. My only expectation has been that I simply do it. I'm please with the results.
