After listening to other peoples opinion of this book, I took me a long time to get the courage to buy this book. I'm really sorry I listened to other peoples opinion of this book, because I really felt these characters. I like the fact that Ms Neal allowed April and Marcus to connect on a mental and spiritual level before getting physical. I thought the courtship was nicely old fashioned, but a refreshing change. I could really feel the struggle April and Summer faced to overcome their dark childhood. I thought it was especially compelling that they were blessed with two wonderful, caring, confident men, who weren't afraid to put their pride and egos aside and truly be vunerable to their women. And although, they weren't afraid to lay their hearts out before April and Summer, it didn't diminish their strength. This story brought a couple tears to my eyes as I watched April and Summers lives come full circle. Marcus and Kenneth were the most emotionally appealing men I read about in a while and make me really appreciate the man who is as beautiful inside as his outward beauty. I thought the endearments "Promise" "Yes I Promise and "Do You Know How Much I Love You" "Yes I Do" were sweet. It was the couples way reaffirming their commitment and love to each other. I really love a story that can make me laugh out loud and can make my eyes water. To me that is a truly good story. Ms. Neal managed to pull both emotions from me and that ain't easy. It is a story I will read again.
Pretty Good

I am a former long-term student, so this is the first year I really started getting back into fiction love stories, and this is the first book that I read that I thought was exceptional. As the other reviewer wrote, the love story component does take a while to evolve, but you get a chance to learn more about the character and her family situation. This was actually the first book I read from her, then I sought out her other. But I enjoyed the second far more, I guess being a professional with a doctor's degree, but not a medical doctor, I could relate to the character more. Plus the male characters aren't outrageously self-centered and egotistical, an instant turn off for me.
