Astrological Diagnosis and Spiritual Healing Tools

This book is written by a counseling astrologer and combines the diagnostic tools of astrology with spiritual healing techniques. It gives many wonderful remedies for challenging astrological aspects, especially those of the planet Neptune. These include flower essences, chants and rosaries (strings of beads) for working with the energies of the various planets, and a powerful technique called "planetary scales," in which one uses chant and visualization to move from the lower to the higher expressions of a planet's energies. In addition, the author offers a penetrating analysis of how and why the New Age movement went overboard in the 70's and 80's with the idea that one can "have it all," shows how the pressure of these expectations can lead to burn-out and addictions, and gives more balanced, workable solutions for personal growth and the fulfilling of human potential. In the final chapter, the author, an experienced counselor, gives wonderful advice on how to give an astrological reading. This is the second book of this author that I have read, and in both books she shows herself to be spiritually oriented, somewhat eclectic, yet practical, with a refreshing sense of humor. It helps to have some astrological knowledge when reading this book, but you can still get a lot out of this book if you are new to astrology, as the author is very good at explaining things and tells you what paragraphs of the book you can skip if you do not want to read detailed astrological analysis. She gives a list of resources for astrological chart computation, as well as of recommended authors and books.
