Astro-Mythology: The Celestial Union of Astrology and Myth

The stars, planets and constellations were "sky libraries" for ancient cultures. Vaughan shows that much of what we take for granted today is embedded in the sky. This description may be from another edition of this product.

A broad sweep of astrology and its mythological foundations

While this unusual book seems to drift all over the sky, it is basically coherent and definitely well-written. If you're looking for a book to better understand the underpinnings of astrology, then this book offers insights not found elsewhere. Each zodiac sign is examined in the context of myths from several cultures. The last third of the book is a collection of articles that deal with myth-making, the cycle of year, personal myths in the horoscope, etc. This book is appropriate for newcomers to astrology who will appreciate all the connections drawn between signs and planets and the things of everyday life - like language and calendars.
