Could our diet be the cause of inflammation? Long viewed as a bastion of health, our diet carries a silent promise: to nourish, protect, and heal. However, a high-energy-density diet can trigger chronic low-grade inflammation. This study explores this paradox within the context of a specific nutritional period: the peri-Ramadan period. During Ramadan, eating patterns shift, meal times change, nutritional choices vary, and the body adapts to a unique cycle of fasting, nighttime refeeding, and metabolic changes. In this context, the dinner plate becomes a veritable laboratory for scientific observation. Through the validation of a dietary inflammation score, this manuscript seeks to uncover the links between diet and the clinical and biological hallmarks of systemic inflammation.
