Assessment and correction of anxiety in children and adolescents

Currently, the number of children and adolescents with high levels of anxiety has increased, so the issues of timely diagnosis of increased anxiety and methods of its correction are becoming increasingly relevant. The results of the present study indicate that anxiety in children and adolescents is objectively reflected in the EEG pattern and amplitude-time parameters of evoked and event-related potentials. The characteristics of brain electrical activity in children and adolescents with high levels of a particular type of anxiety, such as school, self-esteem, or interpersonal anxiety, even when the level of general personal anxiety is not high, differ significantly from the EEG activity of peers with low levels of the same type of anxiety. Sessions of neurotherapy, aimed at changing certain EEG parameters, lead to optimization of the psychophysiological state and can serve as an effective way to reduce high levels of anxiety in children and adolescents. The book is intended for psychophysiologists, psychologists and neurophysiologists, as well as for anyone interested in child and adolescent anxiety and its correction.
